Its time to tighten security. The metros are under alert. Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata have gone under scanner after rumours and hints about the presence of LeT militants loomed over the cities. Apparently, the terror groups have already installed their men for suicide bombings across the metros.
Sources have confirmed that trained suicide squads have been sneaked into India to carry out these suicide bombings and terror activities. This comes few weeks after India silently observed the infamous 26/11 anniversary.

President Patil is on Cloud Nine. Well, atleast sometime back she was!

She is also the oldest woman to have made a successful flight en route the fighter jet. She was made to sit in the co-pilot’s chamber in the cockpit and was made to don a ‘G-suit’,worn by fighter pilots to keep blood pressure stable during high speed air manoeuvres.

Hurt and upset over the curent media glare over his “leaked” Babri Masjid report, the ‘leakage’ of his report on Babri Masjid demolition, Justice (retd) M. S. Liberhan on Monday said that he “will not speak on the report. If the report is with the media, then go and find out from where the media got it and who provided the report.”
Claiming gravity, Liberhan said that he was not “characterless” who would leak the report before handing it over to the Parliament. His remark comes after the Opposition reportedly tried to charge the retired Justice that his report on the demolition was selectively leaked. Angry over the charge, Liberhan refuted, “let the Opposition say anything, but what do you mean by this?”

Lashkar-e-Toiba accused militant David C Headley had made frequent visits to India before the Mumbai attacks on November 26 last year, Chidambaram confirmed. US based operatives Headley and his accomplice Tahawwur Hussain Rana were arrested last month by FBI and had been proved of having close ties with the Pakistani militants.
“He visited India many a times before 26/11. We are investigating probable link between 26/11 and Headley. ”
US investigatives had, for quite some time, suspected Al Qaeda and LeT to have been using unsuspecting western nationals as part of their terror schemes. And it took quite a while to share and exchange such investigative information “with our foreign partners as we worked together to mitigate these threats,” David Kris, Assistant Attorney General for National Security, further added, “this case is a reminder that the threat posed by international terrorist organizations is global in nature and requires constant vigilance at home and abroad.”

India seems to be getting defiant day by day. This time helping the biggest internal security threat faced by major Indian states, Maoism, is the central issue and the accused is the communist China. The long standing question of the main culprits behind supplying weaponry to the naxals is finally answered by home secretary G K Pillai: “Chinese are big smugglers… suppliers of small arms. I am sure that the Maoists also get them.”
When probbed further, Pillai admitted that except weaponry, China hasn’t helped Maoist spread in the country although he declined to comment whether it is the government or Chinese smugglers who have been lending a hand to the separatists.

Indian Economy growth depends to some extent depends upon the monsoon, as if they go normal, then the current fiscal will grow by 6.5 percent and perhaps accelerate to 7 percent, according to Prime Minister’s predictions at the India Economic Summit of the World Economic Forum. He also did not forget to remind everyone how Indian economy has risen from 5.6 percent in the 1980s to 9 percent in in the last five-year plans preceding the global economic crisis.
Manmohan Singh was delighted “to say that India has been able to face the global economic downturn better than most other countries in the world.” He added that “In the current financial year, we faced the adverse impact of an inadequate monsoon and the resultant slow down in agriculture. Nevertheless growth is expected to be around 6.5 percent.”

Once again Pakistan bears the brunt of accusal of terrorist sheltering from the Indian side as Defence Minister A.K. Anthony refutes that there are “various terrorists groups operating from Pakistan, but despite our repeated requests all terrorist camps are intact. Many of them are in the vicinity of their army bases. It is a matter of concern and worry to us.”
When asked what will be India’s stand in this critical state where Pakistan has not yet confirmed its diplomatic stand concerning terrorism in its basic military framework, Antony responded that “we are eternally vigilant and if something happens we will act accordingly.” The defense minister was confident that India will “defeat their attempts” and added that “Unless Pakistan takes sincere action against these terror groups and dismantles these terror outfits, it is very difficult to improve our relationship with Pakistan.”
“We know very well that there are forces who now and then are creating problems in India. We are making all out precautions not only in NDC but across the country,” Antony concluded.

At a press meet in Madurai, Home Minister P.Chidambaram demanded sincerity on the part of Pakistan towards controlling its untamed militant sections and asked the neighbour to stop playing games with India. Echoing the Prime Minister’s views on Pakistan’s alleged carelessness and imprudence in curbing terrorism from its states, Chidambaram told the media that India expects the 26/11 Mumbai attacks to be the last sponsored militant agitation by the neighbouring country.
“The Mumbai attacks (of November 2008) should be Pakistan’s last game. I have warned the country not to play with India.” And if Pakistan fails to keep up the promises it has made to both India and UN, then it will “face retaliation.”
Showing enough boldness to speak against UPA government, the Home Minister retaliated, saying both Congress and BJP have been equally careless in handling security matters that have concluded in the 26/11 attacks.
