Shatabdi Kills Four
About 500 passengers of the New Delhi-Ajmer Shatabdi Express were stranded amidst angry protests for hours after the train hit four people at Pataudi, Haryana at about 7.30 a.m. this morning. Anant Swarup, spokesperson of the Northern Railways told reporters that the four were trying to “illegally” cross the track.
“Because of the accident, the engine of the train was damaged and we sent another engine from Delhi. However, because of the ongoing protests there, the relief engine could not be attached,” he continued. The Railway Protection Force (RPF) came over to handle the situation.
