Finally, after a spate of several days, the new Maharashtra government is formed constituting 18 Congressmen and 20 more ministers from its ally the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). While Ashok Chavan has taken the oath as Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister Chhagan Bhujbal is from NCP under the watchful eyes of Maharashtra Governor S.C. Jamir.
The government shall include 12 Congree Cabinet ministers and 15 NCP ministers. 16 days after the power battle between Congress and NCP, the Maharashtra government has been formed.
