The charge comes nine months after Islamabad identified seven planners and facilitators of the Mumbai carnage and arrested five of them, including Lakhvi. The Pakistani court under the justice of Judge Malik Muhammad Akram Awan, who is conducting the trial at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi for security reasons, also declared 16 people, including Ajmal Amir Kasab, as proclaimed offenders.

The lawyers had been demanding that Kasab, the lone surviving terrorist of the 26/11 attack, must be brought to the court to face trials.
